How much does a typical solar system cost?
Most domestic installs land between £5,500 and £9,000 depending on roof size, panel count and whether a battery is included. Your survey gives a fixed price with no provisional sums.
Do solar panels work on a normal British day?
Yes. Panels run on daylight, not direct sun. Output is lower under heavy cloud, but UK annual yield figures already assume typical British weather — our estimates use them.
How long does an installation take?
Solar is usually one to two days. Batteries and EV chargers are a day or less. Heat pumps take two to four days depending on radiator and cylinder work.
What warranty do I get?
Ten years on workmanship, plus the manufacturer warranty on each product — typically 12 to 25 years on panels and 10 years on batteries and inverters.
Can you help with government grants?
We check current scheme eligibility for free and handle the application on your behalf. Scheme rules change, so we confirm what's available at the time of your survey.
Do you service systems you didn't install?
Yes, including inherited systems with missing paperwork. We diagnose, produce a written condition report and quote for any remedial work.
Do I need planning permission?
Most domestic solar is permitted development. Listed buildings, conservation areas and some flat-roof or ground-mounted arrays need an application — we tell you at survey and handle the submission if one is required.
Will a battery keep my power on in a cut?
Only if it is specified with a backup circuit and an appropriate changeover. We can design it that way, usually covering essential circuits rather than the whole property.
What happens to my export payments?
You can sell surplus generation back under the Smart Export Guarantee. We register your system and explain which tariffs are worth comparing, though you choose your own supplier.
Can I pay monthly?
Yes. We can introduce you to regulated finance providers for domestic work, and lease or asset finance for commercial systems. Finance is subject to status and the rate quoted is always provisional.
How disruptive is a heat pump install?
Two to four days on site. Expect a day without heating while the changeover happens, some radiator replacement in older properties, and an external unit plus a hot water cylinder to find space for.
Do you work outside the energy division?
Yes. The same group handles IT support and software, and property refurbishment, planned maintenance and reactive repairs. Clients frequently start with one and add the others.
